Wedding FAQ

How would you describe your style and approach for wedding photography?

I consider myself a documentary wedding photojournalist.  My goal is to observe your wedding day candidly and naturally.  I will not stage or set-up the moments of your special day.  Basically, I am here to capture the true story of your day through pictures.

Are your pictures in black and white or color and do you edit all the images?

I provide a mix of both black and white and color.  In my opinion the emotion and passion an image conveys is felt stronger in a black and white image.  With that being said, I understand and appreciate the need for color to further define and compliment the capturing of your “story.”

I shoot with high-end digital equipment and my editing work includes color correction, cropping, and exposure adjustments where applicable.  I do not alter images by moving things around or removing and/or inserting people into the images.

How do you prepare before the wedding?

Prior to the wedding, I like to meet in person to go over basic questions to help facilitate photographing your wedding.  These questions include details such as times, places, traditional/formal images, first looks, reception elements, etc.

On the day of the wedding I have back-up equipment for all my gear as well as an assistant to help facilitate photographing your big day.

As a candid, documentary wedding photographer, do you take group shots and portraits?

Although I aim to document your wedding candidly and unobtrusively, I understand the need for some traditional/formal portraits.  Given the day’s events and timeline these may take place before or after the ceremony.  We will pick a location for all the images and with the help of one of your party’s members, we will do these efficiently and professionally.  This is your day and want the focus to be on you and your spouse enjoying the day and celebrating it with your closest family and friends.

How do we book the wedding?

We require a completed and signed contract and a non-refundable retainer fee of $250.00 plus sales tax to secure and reserve your wedding date.  Accepted payments are credit card only.  The balance will be due in full 14 calendar days prior to the day of the wedding.

What happens after our wedding?

Please allow up to 3 weeks from date of your wedding for digital images to be available on your online gallery.  Once images are posted on your gallery, a delivery arrangement will be made for such images on a USB drive per package plan. Wedding albums are custom made and can take up to 4 weeks or longer after you have approved them.
